Extinction Rebellion Festival: 4 Days of Art, Music, and Teach-Ins for Earth (Crisis) Day
For the four days leading up to Earth (Crisis) Day, we’ll gather in Washington Square Park each day from 3- 8 PM to celebrate the earth and explore solutions to the climate crisis through art, music, and teach-ins.
Come be in community with fellow rebels and our allies to learn, dance, and create together as we imagine the future we want. Schedule for Day 2 includes:
3 - 3:30 PM: Meditation by World Yoga Center
3 - 4 PM: Compost Presentation
3:30 - 5 PM: Music by Elsa and the Jazz Band. Featuring Elsa Nilsson - flutes, Santiago Leibson - keys, Marty Kenney - Bass Rodrigo Recabarren - Drums
5 - 6 PM: Yoga by World Yoga Center - bring your own mat!
5:30 - 6:30 PM DISCObedience - join this affinity group for dancing to bring awareness to the climate crisis
6 - 7 PM: Heading for Extinction Talk - This talk will lay out the latest climate science that drives our urgency to act and outline how we can use nonviolent direct action to demand change.
6:00 - 7:30 PM: Nonviolent Direct Action Training (NVDA) Training - learn from experienced trainers how to participate safely and effectively in civil disobedience activities.
6:30 - 8 PM: Film Screening: Age of Consequences - an investigation into how climate change interacts with migration, unrest and conflict.
7 - 8 PM: Climate Grief Processing Drop-In Workshop
7:30 - 8 PM: Presentation on Harlem Guerilla Gardening
Plus block printing, food, and more!
