Show up in NYC on January 11.
Mass extinction. Food shortages. Water shortages. Extreme weather events. Disease. Forced migration. War & conflict. Societal collapse. An IPCC diagnosis of “code red for humanity.” The climate and ecological crisis is nearing its breaking point and our government is still not acting.

We deserve a livable future.
We have a brief window of time to act in order to prevent irreversible change that at best would make our future rife with suffering and death, and at worst, could set off a course of events eventually leading to human extinction (an unlikely, but possible, worst-case scenario.)
We are in an emergency and if we can wake up to that truth, we can change it.
The climate and ecological crisis is here, and yet governments have failed to pass adequate legislation to halt the disaster. We’re running out of time. We have already experienced an increase in extreme weather events like flooding and wildfires in addition to food insecurity, species and biodiversity loss, and an increased risk of future pandemics. And things are on track to get a whole lot worse. Conventional campaigning like petitioning, lobbying, voting and small-scale protests have not worked due to the rooted interests of political and economic forces — governments will not act without massive, sustained pressure from the people. We have a moral duty to act, to do what's reasonable and necessary to avert the catastrophic impacts. It’s up to us to meet the moment.

Stop Selling Us Climate Collapse
Ad agencies are lying. They are accepting money to intentionally make bad companies look good. It is working.
We all know climate chaos is caused by climate criminals. Ad agencies are selling us the lie that “things are under control”. The lie goes that banks, oil companies, and everything in-between are investing in technology that will solve the crisis we all see approaching. But these are lies, and these are lies that are poisoning all of our ability to adequately respond to catastrophe.
Working with such an ad agency signifies that you support their support of climate criminals.
It’s so easy to not be a dirty ad agency! Being a clean creative is easy and rewarding, and it doesn’t hurt the bottom line!
The Truth is Obvious(ly Not This)
The lies (about climate chaos being solvable technology) are obvious and very easy to disprove. They very clearly obscure obvious facts. They are obviously not showing the full picture. They only work due to their pervasiveness.
As long as we let ad agencies get away with lying about the climate, we cannot Act Now.
We know that electric cars will not prevent massive storms. We know that carbon credits can not undo biodiversity loss. We know that recycling will not magically increase crop yields.
The ads are getting more sneaky. Shell/BP/Chevron isn’t buying super bowl ad time anymore, but are instead laundering their message through more targeted online ads, smaller regional companies/bodies, and creating partnerships with other companies. This is insidious.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
In recent months, we have staged powerful actions at a performance of Enemy of the People on Broadway, a PGA golf tournament in Connecticut, and the headquarters of Citibank in downtown New York. Now we need YOUR voice, YOUR passion, and YOUR presence to keep the pressure on.
Get grounded on the strategy.
In order to make our campaign as effective as possible, it’s important that participants get grounded on why we are MAD AT MADISION. Join us on January 11th at 10:30 AM at the First Unitarian Church to learn and discuss the reasons behind this campaign.
Attend a pre-action training.
Your attendance at the action training is crucial! During this session, you will learn about the action plan, location, and schedule, and your legal rights as an activist. Stay tuned to our events page for upcoming Non-Violent Direct Action Trainings offered by XRNYC!
Take action.
Onboard in-person to join in for disruptive actions at major Ad Agencies in NYC upcoming in January and February! Security and action training required.
