STOP DIRTY BANKS

  • Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza 833 United Nations Plaza New York, NY, 10017 United States (map)

The day begins at 10:30 am with a rally at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, E. 47th St. at 2nd Ave. Rev. Billy Talen, longtime foe of the fossil-fuel financiers here in NYC and around the world, will be our master of ceremonies. We’ll have some exciting speakers, music from Rev. Billy’s amazing Stop Shopping Choir, the wonderful XR-NYC band, and (if all works out) from the truly incredible Batalá New York, an all-women, Black-led percussion ensemble (we dare you not to dance!). The Climate Clock Car will also be there, and rumor has it there may also be a bit of street theater …

From the Plaza we’ll march a few blocks on 47th Street to tell Jamie Dimon, “it’s not us, it’s YOU!” More music, more preaching (maybe an exorcism?), culminating in the moment we say “buh-bye” to Chase by “cutting up” a giant credit card – with giant scissors, natch – courtesy of the incredible Ro SantiEsteban of SkinDeep Digital.

It’s going to be a raucous, righteous, joyous, inspiring, empowering day in the streets - bring your signs, your banners, your family, and your energy. We’re planning for hundreds of people – make sure you’re there!
