Regenerative Climate Grief Circle

  • The Love Zone, Brownsville 701 Mother Gaston Blvd Brooklyn, NY 11212 Unted States (map)

You are invited to a regenerative and healing circle for climate grief. We'll share and connect through ritual, song, and dance.

Join us for this opportunity to lay down our burdens and heal together as we process the collective trauma of climate change. We will offer theater games, talking space, song, dance, and ritual to connect to the earth, the elements, and to each other.

We believe that in healing ourselves, we heal the earth, and that we are more politically effective as a movement when we are not holding excessive amounts of grief, fear, and anger. We also seek to build community between the various climate groups of NYC to deepen our bonds and strengthen our political power.

Facilitated by:

Aderinsola Babawale is a Environmental justice advocate and organizer with Brownsville Green Justice who has been studying the climate crisis for the past half decade in ESchool. Learning about the problem to be focusing on solutions, they’re focusing on getting an associates in Global & Environmental studies to be more informed about the roles of advocacy & protection to heal ourselves and our climate.

Rev. Chelsea MacMillan is a sacred activist, ordained interspiritual minister and spiritual director, facilitator, writer, and organizer with Extinction Rebellion NYC.

Emilie Alexandre is a climate justice organizer with Sunrise Movement and a drama therapy master’s student. They believe that connection to spirit must be central to our political movements in order to have the most radical impact on our destructive culture of extraction and disposability. They are driven by a deep devotion to the healing process, individual & collective.

Laura Escalante is an intuitive space holder, who is walking the path of Curanderismo. She has been guiding Somatic Meditation Sessions, Home Energy Clearings and Personal Energy Healings sessions. Using Vedic Rituals and Shamanic Healing, she uses her kin ability to see others deeply in order to help them be seen in the world in a way that feels authentic and resonant to themselves.

All donations will be sent to the Water Protectors of line 3. If you wish to contribute, you can do so via the Eventbrite registration link or we will take cash or mobile app donations at the event.
