Extinction Rebellion NYC has been rebelling since late 2018. In that brief period, taking nonviolent direct action, we have:

• Caused a spectacle in Rockefeller Plaza, announcing XR’s arrival in the US on the nightly news

• Blocked the Brooklyn Bridge, helping inspire the City Council to Declare a Climate and Ecological Emergency

• Deployed creative actions and a huge banner to convince the New York Times not to host the “Oil & Money” conference

• Spilled “blood” on Wall Street, which something about awareness/media coverage?

• Dropped a boat in Times Square, blocking traffic for hours and something about awareness/media coverage?

• Occupied North Brooklyn Pipeline construction, slowing the expansion of fracked gas in NY

• Pulled off an April Fool’s prank that made thousands aware of Google’s funding of climate denial
