Reflection

What’s nourishing your relationships right now?

Practice

Even singer-songwriter John Mayer knows it: “Love is a Verb.” In what ways can you commit to loving behavior?

This week, we’re looking at the loving behavior of SPEAKING UP. If something feels off in one of your relationships, first take responsibility for your problem and feeling, then choose the courageous action of speaking up about it.

  1. Share two things that are working for you.

  2. Share two things that aren’t working for you.

Focus on sharing and how it feels to share honestly, instead of on fixing the problem. As the listener, consider what it might be like for the person who is sharing to share what they are sharing.

The Answer to Anger & Aggression is Patience by Pema Chodron

“We can suppress anger and aggression or act it out, either way making things worse for ourselves and others. Or we can practice patience: wait, experience the anger and investigate its nature. Pema Chödrön takes us step by step through this powerful practice.”

In the midst of existential threat, it's especially hard to make choices that will create the world we want to see. But, it’s in these hard moments that our choices have the biggest impact. Our world is facing huge opportunities for change, and by choosing thoughts, words, and behaviors consciously, we can lead ourselves and others down the road to peace and justice.
