The Rebellion Continues

As we clean up from the damage and loss of Hurricane Ida, the reason we do what we do as Extinction Rebellion is brought into focus even more. We sincerely hope you, your family, and your neighbors were not badly affected by the record-breaking floods. Unfortunately, at least 45 people have died due to the storm in the NYC area - from a storm that has a direct connection to the Climate Crisis.

The Climate Crisis is here, now, in our city, and people are dying because of inaction by the government and corporations.

Over two years ago, in June of 2019, we led the fight to NYC City Council to pass the Climate Emergency Declaration, yet no action has been taken on the timeline that is needed to save lives. That is why we are returning to the streets on September 17th for more non-violent protest and we need you to join the Rebellion and make your voice heard.

Right now, Extinction Rebellion is making our voice heard around the world - with protests continuing, in XR fashion - demanding governments take the necessary action. Check out how the Rebellion is going in the UK.

Now is the time to demand a new way forward. A future where we don’t need to be afraid of flash floods and tornadoes with every rainstorm. A future where the western United States isn’t on fire for 6 months of the year. A future where our children aren’t afraid of what the future will be.

Join us on the day of rebellion. Sign up here to let us know you are coming.
