9/17 Action: Enough is Enough

  • New York Public Library 476 5th Avenue New York, NY, 10018 United States (map)

Enough devastating droughts, floods and storms.

Enough fires decimating wildlife and homes from the UK to the USA, Australia to Amazon & Africa.

Enough of greenwashing by corporations responsible for global greenhouse gas emissions.

Enough of the media controlling our story.

Enough government failure.

Enough public cynicism and despair.

More courage.

More collaboration.

More action.

More love.

Together we march.

We’re at a crucial moment in history. Our climate is breaking down and life on Earth is dying - accelerated by our economic system, consumption of natural resources, all while politicians look the other way. . The recent UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report concluded that we can still avoid catastrophic warming: governments just need to act now.

While things will inevitably get worse, how much worse they get is up to us. Drastic action is needed now to ensure we minimize the suffering and destruction brought about by continuing to ignore the climate crisis.

The UN's climate conference, COP26, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland in November, has the power to bring this spiraling emergency under control. Let's make sure this is truly a climate crisis turning point -- the moment when words become action, and we secure a liveable future for all.

We urgently need to put pressure on world leaders and all stakeholders at every opportunity leading up to COP26. The UN 76th General Assembly will take place in NYC in September. With every rebel involved on the streets of New York City (or around the globe), we can shift  towards a brighter, more habitable future here on Planet Earth.

We're told it's impossible. It's not. It's time to acknowledge the harm, imagine  the future we want - and then go for it. This Rebellion needs us all!
