Political leaders in the United States have known about the consequences of burning fossil fuels and polluting the environment for decades. They have done next to nothing over the years to mitigate the consequences of unregulated corporations wreaking havoc upon our environment for capital gains. Biden's non-binding plan to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 is not sufficient to protect people on this land from climate catastrophe, particularly those on the front lines of the fight for environmental justice. The Biden administration must acknowledge the climate and ecological emergency this country and the world is facing. Only then can the government justifiably push for urgent transformation of our economic system.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has publicly called on President Biden to declare a climate emergency. We must hold him to his word and urge the president to listen. Meet us at the arch in Grand Army Plaza as we make a brief visit to Schumer and his Park Slope residence on May 1st to demand he call on Biden to declare a climate and ecological emergency. You'll hear from advocates, learn chants, make some noise, and see a fun, pink surprise. This is a family friendly event open to everyone.
