Please join us on Sunday for a gathering to collectively process the Climate Strike week of actions (9/20-9/27), and to discuss future climate organizing work in New York City, including but not limited to those planned for the Fall by groups like Extinction Rebellion and Earth Strike.
What are the tactics, demands, and coalitions that have emerged in recent climate organizing efforts?
What are some of the tensions and conflicts? How do high-profile demonstrations and direct actions relate to long-term grassroots climate justice work being undertaken by frontline communities, including those formulating neighborhood climate resilience plans?
How do the frameworks of eco-socialism, decolonization, and abolition relate to climate organizing in the city right now?
We'll be joined by organizers from Extinction Rebellion, Liz Barry, and Ashley Dawson.
