How to Talk to Children about the Ecological Crisis

The ecological crisis is having significant emotional and mental health effects on young people as they become acutely aware of its potential long-term impacts. In this online discussion, Day Sanchez will share solution-focused approaches and communication tools for parents to talk about the ecological crisis with children of all ages (3-18 years of age). Parents will receive practical strategies and ideas to inspire and empower children and help them build a sense of agency as the crisis unravels. There will be time for Q&A and group discussion.

Day Sanchez is a school psychologist and emotional intelligence coach with over a decade of experience working with hundreds of children presenting a wide range of learning, behavior, and emotional challenges. Day provides guidance and support for neurodiverse and highly sensitive children and shares psycho-education and resources to help children and young people cultivate resilience amid the unfolding ecological crisis.
